El Paso Texas Border Patrol

This photo album is from the daughter of a border patrol agent. Her father had worked for the Border Patrol from Florida to El Paso, Texas and ended his career here in Tucson, Arizona.

This album features Border Patrol agents on patrol for liquor smugglers. Some of these photographs are actually set up for the photographer. Other photographs occur as the events happen.

I hope you find these images, from the 1920’s/1930’s, as interesting as i do. It is a glimpse of life including uniforms and daily duties from a tough profession. These particular patrols were apparently to intercept bootleg liquor runners, rather than just catching illegal entrants coming into this country:
